Advanced OpenFOAM® developments require the handling with the C++ source code guide Doxygen. During the training lectures, different basic classes are going to be analyzed using the text editor vim and comparing the code against the more appropriate code analyzer Doxygen. Doxygen is a powerful and essential tool for C++ developments; especially in large projects such as OpenFOAM®; the generation of the Doxygen project files is explained. After the basic videos, an already existing solver is going to be extended to simulate the vaporization of water. Additionally, some aspects about compiling modes such as 'debug-mode' are made, and the GDB debugger is briefly introduced. The solver itself is just for demonstration. Therefore, no aspects of the physical correctness or numerics are evaluated.

The screencast was recorded for OpenFOAM-4.x. Based on ongoing developments, code maintenance, sustainability and performance improvements, classes and functions can be named differently in newer releases.
