The stronger regulation of engine/power plant emissions leads to the pollutants of engines lead to a new investigation into optimizing the process parameters or adding new technologies to, e.g., convert defined species into other ones. An example is the Selective Catalyst Reaction (SCR) which is used for reducing NOx emissions with UREA solutions. However, it is also possible to change the species formation inside the combustion chamber by using exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) or different phenomena such as a vortex break-down and flame stability. The combustion chamber published here is an idea of new design developments. Six years ago, the Bosch AG was investigating into such kind of biomass combustion chamber; Master thesis of Tobias Holzmann - flamelet model. The training case will mesh a complex geometry using snappyHexMesh and adding layers to the spherical part as well as to the diffusor section. The simulation is arbitrary without combustion (cold flow). However, function objects are used to generate the passive scalar transport equation on the fly; can be related to oxidizer and fuel stream.

Holzmann CFD does not give any warranty to the numerical results that are obtained within this training case based on the fact that there is no verification or validation.
