Arbitrary Rotating AMI

An arbitrary rotating rotor using the arbitrary mesh interface

€60,00

Dynamic meshes are state of the art for engineering processes. In many cases, the numerical analysis has to be adapted to the rotation because, e.g., the multi-reference-frame (MRF) assumption does not hold anymore. To investigate into such phenomenon, OpenFOAM offers a mapping and interpolation boundary condition namely arbitrary mesh interface (AMI). Discount of 25 % possible.

  • Description
  • REVIEWS
This tutorial demonstrates one way to generate the arbitrary mesh interface (AMI) for the rotating cell zone using snappyHexMesh. The main aspect of the training case is related to the meshing procedure. After that, the user can decide if a numerical analysis is performed or only a mesh motion is fulfilled. As a pre-trick-information: If one is interested in the meshing procedure of such cases, the surface triangulation is a highly valuable step to the correct mesh. A good triangulation is always the key point to have excellent meshes using snappyHexMesh. The training case uses the common Holzmann CFD run script that includes comments and makes it easier to understand. Futhermore, other files are well commented to understand the mathematics in more depth.

Holzmann CFD does not give any warranty to the numerical results that are obtained within this training case based on the fact that there is no verification or validation.
