The generation of the arbitrary mesh interface (AMI) boundary condition is used for splitting the static and dynamic mesh regions. To create such boundaries, different methods can be applied. Commonly, Holzmann CFD uses the inhouse mesher of OpenFOAM namely snappyHexMesh, to generate high valuable numerical meshes. Discount of 25% possible.

The training case provided by Holzmann CFD investigates into the generation of a long arbitrary mesh interface (AMI) using snappyHexMesh. The AMI is generated by adding another triangulated surface to the meshing procedure while declaring the inside volume of the geometry as a cell zone with a corresponding face zone. The face type itself can be defined as a baffle or as boundary and depend on the actual mesh and snappyHexMesh settings. Furthermore, it depends on the geometry itself. After the mesh is generated, the defined cell zone is used for the dynamic library. The pre-processing application createPatch is further used to modify the mesh topology. The solver named moveDynamicMesh is used afterward for the pure mesh movement (without solving any fluid dynamic equations).

Holzmann CFD does not give any warranty to the numerical results that are obtained within this training case based on the fact that there is no verification or validation.
