In the computational fluid dynamic analysis, engineers are using a fixed rotation set-up for the moving mesh that includes the design of the turbine. The training case provided on this page is related to flow induced rotation. For such investigations, the six degree of freedom library can be used. However, commonly engineers are using a fixed rotation for the moving mesh zone. The mesh generation for both, flow-induced and fixed rotation are identical. The training case provides two dynamicMesh dictionaries in order to show you both options. The tutorial meshes the geometry using snappyHexMesh (parallel) and build the cellZone and sliding interface named arbitrary mesh interface (AMI). The AMI is built by snappyHexMesh using the »boundary« face type. The calculation is based on the PIMPLE algorithm.
